Some links on GreatHealthGear.com are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase, we earn a small commission from the retailer. This costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same whether you click through from this site or go directly to the retailer.
What this means in practice
If you click the "Check price" button on a product review and buy the item, the retailer pays us a percentage of the sale. The exact percentage varies by retailer and product category. We participate in programmes run by Amazon, and other UK and international retailers relevant to each product category.
Affiliate income is how GreatHealthGear funds itself. It allows us to spend time researching, writing, and maintaining reviews without charging readers or selling advertising.
What this does not mean
Affiliate relationships have no bearing on which products we recommend or how we score them. A product that pays a higher commission does not get a higher rating. A product that pays no commission at all gets the same honest assessment as one that does.
We do not accept payment for positive reviews, guaranteed placements, or favourable coverage of any kind. If a manufacturer contacts us offering payment in exchange for a review — positive or otherwise — we decline. Our scores are calculated from publicly available evidence: peer-reviewed accuracy studies, independent tests, and aggregated user data. No amount of money changes what the research shows.
If a product is mediocre, we say so, even if it carries a commission. If a product we do not earn a commission from is the best option for a particular buyer, we recommend it anyway.
How affiliate links are marked
All affiliate links on this site carry the rel="nofollow sponsored" attribute, as required by Google's Webmaster Guidelines and consistent with FTC disclosure requirements. Links open in a new tab and are clearly labelled with the retailer name where space allows.
