Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often.

Does GreatHealthGear physically test the products it reviews?

No. GreatHealthGear does not purchase or receive devices for in-house testing. Every verdict is built from peer-reviewed accuracy studies, independent benchmarks, aggregated long-term user data, and expert reviews from across the web. We synthesise that evidence into structured assessments — we do not base conclusions on a single reviewer's short-term impression. For a full explanation, see How We Research & Review.

How does GreatHealthGear make money?

Through affiliate commissions. When you click a product link on this site and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. This costs you nothing extra — the price is exactly the same whether you arrive via this site or go directly. For full details, read our affiliate disclosure.

Does earning a commission affect your recommendations?

No. Product assessments are based entirely on the evidence — peer-reviewed research, independent accuracy data, and user reports. A product that pays a higher commission does not receive a higher score. If a product we earn no commission from is the best choice for a particular use case, we recommend it. Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial relationships.

How often are reviews updated?

Reviews are updated when significant new information becomes available — a revised accuracy study, a software update that meaningfully changes the product, a price change, or a new generation being released that supersedes the device. Each review carries a "last updated" date in the frontmatter. If a product has been superseded by a newer model, the review notes this clearly and links to the updated device.

Can I trust the scores?

The scores reflect the weight of aggregated evidence across seven fixed categories, each rated 1–5. The overall score is calculated automatically from those seven scores using a fixed formula — it is never assigned by hand, which means it cannot be inflated. That said, no scoring system is perfect, and we encourage you to read the section-by-section breakdown rather than treating the headline number as the whole story. See How We Research & Review for the scoring methodology in full.

A product I want reviewed isn't on the site — will you add it?

We expand the review library continuously, prioritising products with sufficient real-world user data and published accuracy research. If a specific device or category is important to you, email us at hello@greathealthgear.com — reader requests do influence what we work on next.

I found an error — how do I report it?

Email hello@greathealthgear.com with the page URL and the specific claim you believe is incorrect. We investigate all corrections promptly. If the error is confirmed, we update the article and note the correction.
