When Wireless TENS Is Worth the Premium
Wireless TENS makes sense in specific situations. Assess whether these apply to you before paying the 3–4x premium over budget wired alternatives:
Under-clothing daily wear: Managing back, knee, or shoulder pain during work, walking, or light activity while wearing normal clothes. Wired units require a lead wire and a separate device unit attached somewhere — awkward under professional attire.
Movement during sessions: Some TENS protocols call for active movement during stimulation to modulate neural input alongside movement. Wired leads constrain range of motion; wireless pods do not.
Travel: Wireless pods and a charging case pack smaller than a wired unit with multiple lead wires. The portability advantage is real.
Aesthetics: Wireless pods are discreet. Wired lead wires are visible and can attract questions.
How We Evaluated These Devices
GreatHealthGear synthesises aggregated user reviews, manufacturer specifications, and independent app assessments. We do not conduct our own device testing. App quality assessments draw on verified purchase user reviews and independent app analysis, not internal testing.
